KOAT NY Debuts Home and World Collection Featuring Sustainable Textiles and Cultural Innovation
KOAT NY, the contemporary fashion label founded by Nigerian-American designer Kelechi Mpamaugo, proudly unveils its Home and World collection, a striking body of work that merges cultural storytelling with sustainable craftsmanship. Debuted during London Fashion Week in the Central Saint Martins MA show, the collection incorporates innovative, responsibly sourced fabrics that reflect the brand’s commitment to both heritage and progress.
Known for its distinctive blend of West African references and New York streetwear language, KOAT’s Home and World collection introduces new textile narratives through a considered use of eco-conscious materials. From recycled polyesters to sustainable denims, the collection demonstrates how fashion can honor ancestral memory while responding to the demands of a changing world.
“Sustainability, for me, isn’t just about material choices. It’s about longevity—emotional, cultural, and physical,” says Mpamaugo. “Every fabric used in Home and World was selected to reflect both movement and memory. These garments are made to hold you—wherever you are between home and the world.”
The partnership with REO-ECO has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. Their commitment to ethical production and high-quality innovation aligned with KOAT’s mission to craft garments that are both culturally specific and globally resonant.
At REO-ECO, we’re proud to support emerging designers like Kelechi Mpamaugo, who are reshaping the future of fashion with integrity and purpose. Supporting visionary talent that shares our commitment to responsible production is at the core of what we do. Collaborations like this highlight the magic that happens when our materials are used with intention and we look forward to continuing to empower the next generation of designers to do just that.
