Textile waste globally

BioCulus™ turns polyester textile waste into high-quality filament yarn using a biological recycling with an enzymatic process powered by REO-ECO’s vertical in-house production.

With our patented enzyme technology, we regenerate polyester at a molecular level. This enables infinite recycling while maintaining
virgin-grade quality.

By the end of 2025, we will have the capacity to produce 10,000 tons of BioCulus™ rPET chips & yarn/year

Waterless colouring

No water is used in the dyeing stage, saving a precious resource from the start.

Low chemical use

Pigments are added directly into the polymer, reducing the need for harsh chemicals.

Energy efficient

By eliminating the traditional dyeing step, the process becomes faster and uses less energy.

Due to the low temperature (60-65 C) and pressure needed for this process the energy consumption is low.

Process

Process

Textile Waste

Post-Consumer & Post-Industrial Waste.

Sorting

Automated sorting.

Shredding

Shredding the textile into small pieces

Enzymatic Depolymerisation

The waste is placed in the reaktor where our enzymes is breaking down the polymer chains.

Monomer Purification & Re-Polymerisation

The PTA + MEG is recovered and recombined ready to be added again into production of rPET Chips.

rPET Chips

The BioCulus rPET chips.

Weaving & Knitting

Yarn

The result is a high-performance fabric; durable, colourfast, and resource-smart.
